(Season 1, Episode 12) "Then what is the point of staying calm?" - Janet, after Joe told her to stay calm, they were coming to get them
OK, there were a few things in this next-to-last episode that I just didn't buy, and I'm not talking about Ulrich's head exploding.
Many plot developments just didn't ring true and seemed a bit rushed. Ulrich saying he was going to go ahead with the experiment but then trying to help the group escape. Blackham getting beaten up near the vault and everyone immediately assuming he was killed even though the security video only showed him getting beaten up.
Veteran actress Debra Monk, who suffered through Andy Sipowicz's drinking on NYPD Blue as his put upon wife and mothered George O'Malley on Grey's Anatomy, has signed on to Brothers & Sisters as a rival for Sally Field.
Debra will debut in episode five of the new season as Alexandra Kirby. When Nora is offered a job as the host of an Ask Mom radio program, she'll face some stiff competition from the more experienced and flashy Alexandra. Who'll get the gig? Aw, I bet you can guess.
We start the night, the spin-off series' fourth episode, with 13 contestants remaining, but by the end of the two-hour installment -- and after a fantasy date, a date in which a couple "takes flight" (literally, as the photo suggestions) and what is described as an "emotionally-bruising" competition -- we'll be down to eight contenders, with four women and four men still vying for the $250,000 prize next week. Also by the end of the episode: We'll know, officially, the cast members for the new season of 'Dancing With the Stars,' the show's 10th season, which premieres on Sept. 20. Are The Situation, The Hoff and The Palin (as in Bristol) really among this season's celeb hoofers? And what about rumored contestants Brandy, Michael Bolton, Rick Fox, Margaret Cho, Jennifer Grey, Audrina Patridge and Florence "Mama Brady" Henderson? We'll soon know...
